1) Margaret River, Cave, Wine, Busselton Jetty (MR)Departs Daily (Sep-Apr) or Mon,Tue, Thur, Fri & Sat (May-Aug)
We travel south from Perth driving through farmland with grazing cattle and passing by coastal towns. Arriving at Busselton, known as the gateway to the Margaret River region we stop for morning tea (own expense) to view the iconic Busselton Jetty. This is the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere (please note there is not enough time at this stop to walk the full length of the jetty). Driving into the heart of the region we head to one of Margaret River’s oldest breweries for a gourmet platter lunch of local produce, with complimentary beer and cider tastings. Following lunch we continue south through the forest to an internationally renowned winery to taste some of their best award winning wines, whilst gaining industry insights on wine production with the opportunity to purchase. Next it’s on to Mammoth Cave for a guided tour through this gothic cave with vast chambers that reveal fascinating information on the regions flora and fauna. Continuing south, through the Boranup Forest of enormous Karri Trees we reach the most fascinating part of the region at Augusta. Here at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, marvel at the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans, a rare phenomenon to view the meeting of two oceans. Then we head north up to the township of Margaret River for a brief stop to stroll the main street. After a long but fantastic day we break at a restaurant en route for a light dinner (own expense) then it’s back to Perth, arriving approximately at 9:30pm.

2) Wave Rock, York, Wildflowers (seasonal) & Aboriginal Culture (WR)Departs Tue, Wed, Fri & Sun
Join us on a journey through Western Australia’s wheat belt to Hyden – home of Wave Rock, truly one of Australia’s most incredible natural landforms. Leaving Perth we head through the Perth Hills and escarpment and enter farming country. Heading east we enjoy morning tea (own expense) at historic York, the first township founded in the Avon Valley. From there we travel the Wheatbelt Highway through the agricultural towns of Corrigin and Kondinin; through outback farming country – giving a glimpse of Australian country life. We then stop briefly at the infamous Dog Cemetery; a shrine to Man’s best friend and an integral part of farming life. Then visit Hippo’s Yawn, a rock formation which resembles a hippo yawning. We then break for an Aussie country style lunch at the Wildflower Shop. Then we move on to see the spectacular Wave Rock and sacred Aboriginal sites. Whilst here visit either a Wildlife Park, view a unique Antique Lace Collection – even featuring lace from Lady Diana, or visit the amazing Toy Soldier museum. Leaving Wave Rock we visit The Humps and finally Mulka’s Cave. We return to Perth with a stop at a remote country town for afternoon tea (own expense) arriving approximately at 8:30pm.

3) New Norcia Benedictine History, Swan Valley & Seasonal Wildflowers including fish and chip lunch (NN)Departs Wed,Thu
Travelling through the Swan Valley we arrive at New Norcia, home to Australia’s only Benedictine Abbey. A little piece of Spain comes alive in this town, full of history, art and architecture. Hear the local history before viewing the chapel and museum artefacts gifted to the monastery by Popes and Royalty of Spain. Visit the famous Benedictine Community with a guided tour of the town and main sites including the museum and art gallery where you will find extraordinary artefacts dating back to when New Norcia was an Aboriginal mission. Next we move on to the Abbey Church; home to one of only two large Moser organs, originally crafted in Germany, followed by a visit to St Gertrude’s College, a grand gothic style building which was originally built as a girl’s boarding school and opened in 1908. We then visit a produce shop selling olive oil, fruit, wine, New Norcia nut cake and breads before enjoying a fish and chips lunch and local breads and olive oil at the historic New Norcia Hotel. Then we head on to the Western Wildflower Farm for a brief talk about how wildflowers are dried and exported. We continue on for an easy paced walk through the mystical Pinnacle Desert and see the Pinnacles from the look out over the park. If time permits make a visit to the Pinnacle Desert Discovery Centre. Return to Perth down the Indian Ocean drive arriving at approximately 7:30pm.
NOTES: Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a hat and camera. Wildflowers: Profusion of wildflowers are dependent on weather conditions, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

4) Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk including picnic lunch (TT)Departs Tue
Travel through spectacular south west forests and lush farmland to reach the impressive Valley of the Giants with a walk through the canopy of towering old growth forest. Traveling south through Donnybrook’s famous apple and stone fruit orchards for morning tea, we continue passing the rolling farmlands of the Blackwood River Valley, then on through Western Australia’s old growth forest to climb the 51m tall Diamond Tree bush fire watch tower, before we stop for our included picnic lunch. Next it’s the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, a 600-metre long elevated walkway through the canopy reaching up to 40 metres. Next see the Ancient Empire of wide girthed Tingle Trees up to 10 metres in diameter. Visit Denmark before returning to Perth at approximately 10:30pm. The park is located roughly 200 kilometres north of Perth and covers an area of 17,487 hectares, providing natural habitat for an extensive array of native animals and bird life. These amazing natural limestone structures, some standing as high as five metres, were formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago, after the sea receded and left deposits of sea shells.
